I'm doing a home remodel and addition. Going to hire excavator (friends) a family electrician and maybe a furnace guy a few miles down the road. Hopefully tackle the rest solo, and anyone that shows up to help won't be turned away. I'm not good with words so very little story is going to be in this thread. I'll just post some pictures.

Two evenings. Excavators done. Lots of dirt. Going to get crazy real soon and long nights.

Good stuff man. Looks like you’re off to a solid start. I’m 3-months into a remodel myself so I have a decent idea of what lays ahead of you. Best advice I can give... make a list of tasks and prioritize them. When complete, check them off and move on. New construction and remodel projects can wear you down in a hurry if you’re not careful. And it’s really easy to get discouraged if you don’t feel like you’re moving forward. Listing your tasks and working through them one by one will help you realize the progress you’re making and keep your motivation elevated. Plus it keeps you organized and on-track. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. Working 8hrs then coming home and basically doing the same job with less equipment will get very old very fast. Setting achievable goals I hope.

huge game changer, barn spikes for grade! Carpenter told me yesterday. 3 3/4in bar horizontals and corners. Got bar done at 215 Crete by 3 27 yrds in done by 615. 2yrds heavy I second guess myself and said bring 2 extra....footers good but joist support and fireplace pad weren't ready but let it fly anyway. I'm sore as hell.

Anyone close enough to do a spot check on Mike? He was supposed to show up last Saturday and we never heard from him. Looks like he hasn't logged in since Saturday morning. I'd like to think he's just busy with this project...but my mind is starting to think otherwise.

trusses came tuesday ordered 7 weeks ago. Quit my job late august to get a roof on before winter. Hardest walls are done. Hopefully be setting trusses before the end of the month then inside work and go back making money until spring. Race is on.
