To begin with this will be a late start for me this year. My first sit won't be before October 23 for sure. As of today,I have three, maybe four deer that I'll be most likely to take if I get the chance. No slobs, but four respectable bucks in my eyes.

Fixed the pic situation for you, Dick. Not starting until 10/23 could be a good thing. Not hunting the first few weeks at our farm as certainly made the hunting better in the past few years.

Got a chance to run a few bolts through my Warrior today. Wanted to be sure it was on the money and ready to hunt with. Good to go. Glad to see the weather is going to remain on the warm side for a while. By the time I get home from my trip it should be go time. Can’t wait to get my butt in a stand.

Got home from our 16 day trip out west late yesterday. First thing this morning I was headed to Carroll County to get things ready for hunting next week. Found the bucks rubbing quite a bit and numerous large very fresh scrapes. Pulled the card and had two good bucks working the mock scrape I made on October 3rd before we left for vacation. Should be interesting stand time next week.

With at least four potential shooters, no giants, but quality bucks, I think this will be a short thread. A couple I should let grow, but my turning 70 in a few weeks tells me I better take a few more while I still can.

Great update Dick! Glad you made it home safely and are getting switched over to deer hunting!! Good luck when you get out, maybe one of those decent boys’ big Papa will show up for you instead!!
