I guess a question that needs asked of anyone believing the earth is millions of years old. Do you also believe in cave men as our "human" origins? Walking around saying ooga booga? Follow up question would be, are you Christian? If not, there will be no need for a 3rd question.

If you’re a Christian asking the follow up question and their answer is “no”, wouldn’t the 3rd and subsequent questions be the most important? Or do you just wag your self righteous finger and walk away? Seems to me like it would be a great conversation starter if you’re interested in seeing people share the same eternal perspective that your posts lead me believe that you hold.

3rd question. If God created Adam as the first man and had conversations with him and had him name all of the animals, where exactly do cave men fit into the equation who can't even speak?

Being a Christian and believing in cave men doesn't coincide. And if you're a Christian and believe in the bible, all of the people who's ages are traced out in the Bible before Jesus, its not exact but its somewhere near 4000 - 4500 years. We obviously know the exact 2023 years now.

Maybe ooga booga was part of an actual language....... I dont understand Chinese or Japanese but it seems to work for them. I'm not a believer but.... aren't we technically on the 7th day? Have you ever made a cake with a bunch of ingredients? Or sculpted anything out of wood using multiple instruments? The point is if we are on the seventh day God's days are not the same as ours and therefore just because "God" made it, that doesn't mean it was instantly put into existence.

Way to fuck up a good thread P8. So the brachiopod fossils my wife has found over the years are only 4500 years old and not 550 million years old?

The Earth is over 5 billion years old, it is not flat, nor is it the center of the known universe and never has been, and Home Sapiens evolved from a lower primate called Australopithecus. Yes, we were once "cavemen". The fossil record is practically indisputable now, and then there is all the pesky DNA stuff. Faith is wonderful, but it really works the best when tempered with the reality of scientific facts.

I asked a person who has the same extreme version of creation the question ‘well then how do you explain dinosaur bones?’ His answer was ‘God put them there’. At that point I decided the conversion was over as that would be the answer for everything. I think all Christians cans agree on the fundamentals of being a good person, no matter how the story of creation is interpreted.

In the garden of eden there was a lot more oxygen. Everything grew bigger and lasted longer. There is plenty of evidence of huge trees. Reptiles also grew bigger. Aka, dinosaurs.

Sorry, last one...I heard that on my way out 😁

Human beings. They had primitive tools...but they were far from primates.

The "evidence" of ape like men are pieces of different species of monkey mashed together.

But no matter what evidence I provide it will be scoffed at and I'll be told its not "scientific" enough. Believe what you have been told based on your "faith" in scientists. We aren't much different in our belief system. You just choose to believe men.

Millions of years...So back then water flowed up hill to form the Grand Canyon? Theres no way the Grand Canyon was formed how they say it was. The Grand Canyon is at a higher elevation than all land surrounding it. The river would have gone around it and it would never have formed. Just another lie in a series of never ending propoganda.

And all those layers of earth showing the different "periods". There are trees standing up through all those layers they have dug up. I know trees can be old, but millions of years for a single tree?
Wait .... what?
sources please
What if the earth was only 6500 years old? Would you feel a little more important in the time aspect?
Are you doing the biblical genealogy time line? or something similar?
How do you explain the carbon 13 dating of items much older than that?

Yes, yes and yes

You're missing the second creation story which can loosely define evolution. Check out the other chapter in genesis.

You're taking a very literal understanding of a book that was written by the hand of man which is fallible. Also, how do you then define the year Christ was born? Based upon the two infancy narratives, there's a 40ish year difference in the historic record of either the Roman historian or the reign of Herod.

Please show your sources on this ape man mashup when we have complete skeletons?
