How old to hunt alone?

Sons 16 years old, can he gun hunt alone on private property

Has he had his hunter's education course? And is it land you own, or someone else's land?

The law is any hunter 16 years and older can hunt by themselves. That goes for public or private land... Doesn't matter. Under 16 = needs supervision. 16 and older = does not need supervision.

That being said... Use your own best judgement for your son. Obviously some kids are more experienced and more mature than others. The age minimum age requirement is just that... a minimum.

I'll add they must also have a valid youth license. If they have an apprentice license they must be accompanied.

During youth season they still must be accompanied by an adult. Unless that law has changed.
