I really could use your TOO help on this one

My sister made her way back to Georgia on Tuesday. One of mom's friends offered to take mom to her Dr's appointment on Wednesday and I graciously accepted since I had jury duty that started that day. Well her hemoglobin was low again so she took her up to the hospital and they were able to give her another 2 pints of blood as an outpatient. Sounded like she was in pretty good spirits even though it was a late night. Her friend sat with her all evening and insisted on bringing her home too.

Mom's friend also volunteered to take her Thursday to the pulmonary Dr. since I did not know if I would have jury duty again or not. From what I was told the day didn't start very well. Mom was very confused all day which started with her being found sitting on her steps that lead into the garage with the garage door wide open. She was disoriented and wasn't sure what she was doing there. Her firiend took her to the Dr appointment where my mom couldn't recall what her mom and dad passed from or even keep her thoughts straight. All has been attributed to her low hemoglobin/blood transfusion from the day before.

As of last evening when I stopped by after work for a while she seemed to be doing well. A little sketchy at times but otherwise she seemed to know what was going on. This is similar to how she was getting early on before her diagnosis. Seemed the day after getting blood she took a while to gain her thoughts back but was always better soon after. Today she seems to have most of her thoughts in order when she texts and when I talked to her at lunch. Just hate seeing the highs and lows of it all. Starting to think the Dr should not be letting her hemoglobin get to the low level they have said before she can go in to get blood again.

Your moms friend is/was a huge blessing Chuck! It's so nice there are people like that still out there! Continued thoughts and prayers headed your families way Chuck!

Another update, so far my mom has received 21 pints of blood since early July. Last Wednesday I had to take her in for more blood after lasting a week. Last week was also her second week of chemo, actually got all 5 days in on it. Friday they checked her blood and noticed it dipped some so they scheduled an appointment for this past Monday. Again it was low and they had us head to the hospital. They kept her overnight because they were giving her 2 pints of blood and a thing of platelets. The also wanted to give her a drug called Lasix to help reduce the fluid build up in her legs and feet. They placed a portable commode next to her bed since she would have to go often. Well during the night she had to go and either the floor was slippery or she didn't quite make it onto the pot before going and she slipped. Luckily she grabbed the side of the bed before going down too fast until her knees hit the ground. Some bruising but thank God she didn't break anything. She is home now and doing a bit better. Some confusion but that is to be expected.
