Imox Herbicide

I decided to try this. Not sure if anyone else has. Only needs 4-6 ounces per acre so a quart would do 5-6 acres. Don't have to spray 2 products though for a clover or alfalfa plot to kill grass and broadleaf. You do have to mix with a Nitrogen and Surfactant mix as well but it is pretty cheap.

Anyway I sprayed my clover plot at home tonight. First I put down some fertilizer and then I sprayed. I had got some dye to put in so I could see where I sprayed. It worked well. The downside is I ended up getting some on the sprayer and my back was blue and not to mention my hands because the bottle cap was leaking. LOL. Only good thing is dawn dishwashing soap eventually takes it off.

I realized this morning that I had a brain fart last night in my rush to get it done and mixed the spray up 2x what was needed. No big deal, but I wasted a bit of money. At least it was only a half acre that I did it on.

I believe that stuff wont kill chicory but it will kill all other broadleaf/grasses correct? I know Raptor was another brand but I have heard this IMOX is a lot cheaper to use. I havent tried it yet but I might in the future. I still have a lot of post plus left over which I believe is sethxodim or however you spell that chemical haha.

Yes it is safe to use on clover, chicory, and alfalfa. Yes it is the same as Raptor but for a fraction of the cost. Should know in a couple of weeks how it works.

Might be hard to see in the pics, but it looks like it is working. You can see the darker grass nearer the camera. It was mowed at the same time but I didn't spray that part. The grass that was sprayed hasn't grown is is starting to turn yellow. Clover is still doing fine.

The clover in the plot is blooming now and looking better. Hard to see in the pics but there is some small clover in alot of the bare spots where the grass was too. I will see how it fills in this summer and may frost seed next year. Pretty happy with the herbicide though and definitely will be using it more on the clover plots.

We had one faded worse than that behind the old deercamp in Vinton county. Sucker was responsible for a lot of dead deer. Named it pinkey.

I have been disappointed in those blinds. Those are the Redneck soft side blinds and I didn't expect them to fade so quickly. I think it is only 3 years old.

I’d say the deer are used to it. Camo pattern was for the first year and did it’s job. Good info for someone using it mobile though.

I use a spray called volunteer I get pretty cheap from a local co-op. Have been using for years and it works great. Different places use diff name brands so just check with your local co-op. Poast plus is highly expensive compared to volunteer. When I was first researching they said strawberry farmers use it to kill grass is strawberry fields which is why they charge so much. I think the volunteer is normally used to kill grass in bean/corn fields. I also agree with frost seeding every year the second year of clover is amazing. Use a low nitrogen fertilizer i get 3-14-24 from local co-op.

Boy I am impressed with the overall results! I need to get some IMOX and give it a shot on a few of my plots - probably do it next year for me but I will update you all on how it works.
