It Is Official...Finally

Thanks for all the replies fellas. Years of planning has us pretty well prepared. But, we both know that "Mr. Murphy" can show up at any time. We will make the best of it.

We had a convertible for 17 years Cotty and driving it was a fun time always. We sold it in 2008 when my wife decided she wanted a Jeep Wrangler. We plan to take a trip from Caribou, Maine to Key West, Florida following as much of old Route US 1 as possible. Traveling Route 66 would be a fun trip too.

No Hicks, this isn't the supercharged version. They didn't offer it in 2000, not that I would have needed it anyways. My need for speed left when I quit drag racing in the mid 70's. Cruising is much more my style.

Completely understand. Need for speed on the roads left me over 15yrs ago when I bought my house. Sold all my "go fast" toys. Left the off road racing 6-7yrs ago when my wife quit her job to go back to college. Sounds like I am about 20yrs behind you right now. Looking forward to being in your shoes someday buddy! Live it up and enjoy.

Retirement is great it's the getting old that sucks.
The wife retired young at 58 and I was somewhat younger. Good planning and some good luck (self made) is all it takes to enjoy it.
Enjoy it early as it's all too short.
