Said every forum member ever over the past 10 years and yet, I've kill this many bucks out there:

In fact, only one buck has been killed off this farm (legally and to my knowledge) since we bought the place in 2005. It just wasn't meant to be the producer I hoped it would be. That said, I have a renewed love of the place again thanks to seeing it through the eyes of my daughter. It is no longer 80 acres of potential big buck killing ground. It's 80 acres of great berry picking, "four-liter" and tractor riding, deer/turkey/squirrel/rabbit hunting, creek splashing, relaxing outdoor fun. Someday I may kill a big buck out there, but it's not certain. What IS certain is that our family will have lots of fun roaming the hillsides and creek bottoms for years to come. Any slunger buck that dies in the meantime is just a bonus...

Great stuff Jesse. Nothing compares to time in the woods with your kids. Looks like she is having an absolute blast! Good to see you more excited about deer season this year. Seems like you may have found your balance: Deer, ducks, with a heavy dose of Jesse Jr on your lap. lol

That's a good way to look at it. Some times the pressure we put on ourselves to kill deer becomes all consuming. An attitude like that will help enjoy hunting season even more.

friggin a buddy!!!! What a great attitude!!!

First sit in the "tent". We saw a doe with twin fawns and a small 6 point when we came home, but nothing came out while we were in the tent. Sat 15 minutes and she did really well. With the iPad, I think she'd be fine for an hour or more. I have a feeling she's going to go on a hunt or two with me this year.

Thanks man. I'm loving it. I have big plans in the works for creating two easy access hunting spots for her and I. One behind my parent's and another at the farm. She'll be 4 next muzzy season and I want to take her on a hunt where Tracie and I could shoot a deer. She really seems interested in deer and I really believe she's going to enjoy hunting.

I forgot to share this from Sunday. We were looking at trail cam pics and she says: "I love deer daddy. I can shoot them with my bow." Then she leans over and gives me a big kiss and says "I love you daddy". Ain't nothing better and no words to describe how that made me feel!

Having that privilege being called a "daddy" is priceless!

Jesse, I love seeing how you've grown as a man and a father raising this little bundle of joy.... Keep up the posts buddy....

She's not too sure about it. One day she's all about, the next not so much. She does love to hold my arrows while I shoot, so that works for now! LOL

Man that is good stuff Jesse! Soak it up now while you can. Once they become teenagers the whole game changes.

You can't beat that. Priceless!! You're doing it right buddy and it's a pleasure to follow along. That's what it's all about!
