I just hope the beans stay green long enough to keep theses guys around. I haven't thrown any corn yet this year except a few cams in ky my plan is to start a few spots at the end of this month when I narrow down where me and savanaha are gonna start the season.

A couple more updates from this last weekend. Me and the kids put a blind in a water way in the middle of the corn field where I've seen some good bucks hanging out. They think they are safe there if they keep doing what they are doing its gonna get interesting early.

I also bought one of those cirrus wind detector. It has a wireless card reader in it. I've had a couple of cheap readers and they last a year max or I loose them. This thing is pretty legit. Also it is a charger to charge your phone to.

Well things are still looking Good. Atleast until the velvet comes off and they dissappear. Like usual. My brother had a buck go hard horned yesterday.

The bucks in ky are starting to show up a little more to and with the season starting next Saturday we could have a velvet buck or 2 on the ground.

Not much to update on ky. So far but we did see 11 between the 3 of us this morning. 3 weeks ago we came down here to replant a plot that didn't work out for us I'm glad we did. Real world deadly dozen is looking killer for just 3 weeks of growth. We still have some decent bucks that are in velvet but a few are hard horned. This is the second year on the farm and we have a way better idea of where to be and what to expect. Here's a few of the bucks that have been regulars that as of Thursday still had velvet they may be in trouble if the come by as none of us have ever shot a velvet buck besides my Tennessee spike.

Between baseball softball and work I feel like I'm way behind. I finally checked 3 cams that had been soaking for 2 months. And found a couple familiar faces. If the deer keep doing what they have done the last week it should be a real fun weekend. Savannah will be up first, hopefully she will be able to get out before and after softball games this weekend. If not I'll be sitting with my buddy from Tennessee.

Getting caught up around here and like always, your cams don't disappoint! I think more than any other member, you routinely have the most variety on your cams when it comes to good bucks. I always enjoy seeing what's around your hunting grounds and appreciate you sharing with us year in and year out. Good luck this season Josh!

What an opening weekend. All the fun none of the mess. We all seen really good deer. And I was 50 yards from sticking about a 160. Last night right after softball me and savannah get to the field where I sat Saturday and she had the safety off on a really good 8 point but he caught our scent where we walked in and trotted off. If we would of went to the blind tho we prolly would have doubled. I guess that's what we will try later this week.

So Monday night I made the decision to go ahead and get Cooper his license and tag. I had originally told him he had to wait til next year when he turned 6. That's when savannah started. He's had a issue with going to school and not wanting to learn to his abc's. But has come a long way so I decided to reward him with something he really wanted to do. We went out Monday after making sure he was still shooting good enough to go. We got skunked, fast forward to today. I got off late and when I got home savannah and him were already dressed to go. I change and we go out the
Door and there's a doe already in our food plot so I knew the deer would move. We got in the blind and in came a button buck the excitement that he had was unmatched but I waited to long and he walked off. Cooper made me pinky promise that he could shoot the next deer. About 20 minutes later I see this deer walking right to us and I knew I had to let him shoot. She turned quartering away and I helped get the scope on her where it needed to be. As soon as he said he was on her I flipped the safety off and almost simultaneously he squeezed it off. I knew she was instantly smoked and I about flipped over the blind. She went about 50 yards and fell. His first call was to grandpa. He's on cloud 9 and I couldn't be any happier. Sometimes I get caught up in big deer and only shooting certain deer but this is what it's all about to me. He is hooked for life.
