Bought my son a Mossberg 500 field/deer combo 20ga 6 years ago. It's killed plenty of turkeys, dove and rabbits but we have not taken it out for deer yet.

For what it's worth... I'd stick with a pump for safety reasons... Remember a semi is automatically putting another live round in the chamber... A youngster can get caught up in the heat of the moment after shooting a deer and disaster can happen... Not saying Levi is not responsible as I've seen adults failing to eject that live round and put the safety back on only to lean the gun against a tree to field dress the deer and take pics... Just food for thought...

Who has an old 1187 wingmaster in 20? Lol, pre 94 with both barrels. 😬
Well good luck finding this combo, because a 1187 is a semi auto and the wing master is a pump 870... So there's no such thing as a 1187 wing master... Sorry Dave had to bust on you...

Now that I'm really thinking about it, I might be off 10 years on the action. Might be 84' when they changed the action on the 870. I'll dig more if one pops up.

I know where there is a Lite 20 1100youth in excellent condition. Asking $999.00. because I love those old Remington's I want to pick it up for the little girl but for that kind of money you are getting into the price range of several new models and the new guns cycle and recoil a lot better than the vintage guns IMO

And the old 20s maynot be chambered for 3" turkey and waterfowl loads and on the old barrels they are too thin to retrofit for interchangeable chokes.... so it's buy available bunch of barrels and parts may not be really available for the old 1100s
