Note: I tempo tagged it immediately after recovering him but just didn't want the tag on his rack for pics. FWIW
He's tagged and skinned and I'm beat to the socks but extremely happy!!!! I'm whupped!!!

Good luck to y'all the rest of the season! I still have a another either or tag to use on a doe but I'll only use it if I feel it's warranted.

He's 1/8 shy of 19" inside. Grosses 131&7/8 as an 8.

She nearly broke down over the phone call when I told her the news! I will be looking closely at the carcass for any clues as to why the shot didn't kill him quicker.

I'm going to now share the trail cam video to the world that was captured just seconds before she shot him. This cam was over a scrape about 70 yards away from us. He walked right past the scrape and we're both sitting up ahead along his route. The video is looped about 5-7 times and I also zoom it in! Just tap or click on the image below.

He made a huge 3/4 loop and died roughly 300 yards from where Karissa hit him. He prolly travelled 1000 yards or a little less.
Yes, it was found in an area I hadn't checked yet but I was less than 70 yards from it when I gave up searching the last day I was out! FUGG!!!! I even saw a couple buzzards fly that direction but I saw buzzards all day in every direction too!

Karissa feels really bad that he suffered and is sad we lost the meat but is elated to have closure!
