So glad things turned out well for you guys. Your buck is real nice and Karissa's is an incredible find!! It's closure to know what happened to him but at the same time I can understand her regret for how she feels. Some of us have had that happen too over the years and you have to realize you all did everything you could have and even one extra night of him laying you would have lost the meat anyways with how this weather has been. I know it's probably too soon but have you given thought to having it mounted with a replacement cape or just a European mount?

Thanks again TOOville! So glad that the right people were involved in helping us looking for her deer! So many are out there that would keep it themselves. It's nice to know there's people outside of our great circle here that think the same way!
I can't wait to get over there and checkout the carcass more and hopefully locate the bolt and other clues as to what happened.

Thanks guys! Keep thinking of tidbits of interesting info I left out. We weighed my deer after gutting him and removing one rear leg at the joint to work the scales better. My deer dressed out at a whopping 137 pounds! Not an ounce of fat on him!
