Lake Erie Charter fishing

We delayed a couple hours this morning because of north winds. Conditions ended up being the same when we went out. Ended up jigging up 22 fish and went out deeper trolling for 11 more. 33 nice fish for the Minnesota guys on a fairly tough and chilly fishing day. I will take it for the first trip of the year.

Battled east wind at 15 to 18 mph all day and it took 4 drift bags to get slow enough but we ended up with a great day of all jig fish with 39 nice fish. Early on it was a good bite as we pulled 20 fish on our first 1.5 mile slide. 14 to 15 feet of water away from the big pack of boats.
Got another 5 man trip tomorrow. Wind looks much better tomorrow. 2 of the guys are missing from the picture.

I’ve seen some real big ones that you’ve posted on here with your clients so if you say this one is big, I can’t wait to see it.👍
 
And then yesterday I had my cousins on a 6 man trip and it began with my cousins son who has never fished Erie before reeled in the first fish if the day and the first Walleye hes ever caught....a 29.5 inch monster! About 930 the bite really picked up with the weather change coming a few hours away and we steadily filled the cooler with 20 to 27 inch fish. Then about 1 o'clock we got a fish on that refused to do what they are supposed to do and swing behind the boat. This fish stayed way to the left and refused to come in. I had a feeling it was a big fish doing what big fish do. Sure enough after a few minute battle and turning the boat to the right to force the fish behind the boat I was able to net what is probably one of the top 3 biggest fish I've personally seen caught out there. It was a 31 inch monster that had just a gigantic head and chest. The first timer was also on the reel again...his 2nd fish ohio of the day and a fish of a lifetime on his first trip ever. We were super pumped about it.
