Tonight was the night. I got one!

Hunted Wayne National today. Saw nothing, including another hunter. Hiked a mile into a spot I marked on OnX during turkey season.

I only hunted the morning, but I never heard a shot on WNF today. I didn't see a deer either.

Spent the last two days walking the thick nasty hollows at the club. Saw nothing. Didn’t even see any sign that I had any up and moving. [emoji2369]

My patience is gone so I’ll wait til muzzy and hope for shitty weather.

Skunked for two days. Not meant to be to kill a buck with my shot gun yet. Hopefully next year. Weather was warm and I knew I should have stayed at home it was just for two day shotgun...why not, just sit back and relax

Educate me. Isn't there a certain temperature and humidity necessary to age this way? Are you able to control these factors? Or am I missing some info on how this works. I'm intrigued.

34-40 degrees is optimal. A couple degrees over is ok. A small oscillating fan to move the air. Pretty basic

Did drives with the same groups of guys I hunted with the weekend of regular gun season. Seen plenty of deer in the two day gun season, my gun/round miss-fired on a 150 class at 80 yards. Our group did encounter some tension/animosity from other hunters/bordering landowner who no longer have hunting rights to the land we were driving. It was a very fun 2 day season, but ended with conflict/jealousy (I will share that story at a later date, after the season ends). Over all had a great time with some learning experiences.
