Starting a pot of turnip greens at the moment as they need to simmer a long time.

Just pulled this 24.75 lb bird out of the oven to rest for 30-45 minutes.

We have sweet taters casserole, green bean casserole and corn pudding in oven now to be pulled at time of turkey carving time. I made monkey bread last night and we also have pumpkin pie and apple pie for dessert. Rolls, gravy boats and cranberry sauce will also be on table.

Wife and I spent this thanksgiving by ourselves. First time in 37 years. It was a little weird but actually enjoying it as well. Just stuck with the basic turkey, taters and stuffing with gravy. Simplicity at its finest……
Leaving in the morning and heading north for a thanksgiving with our daughter and SIL on Sunday, then I’ll hunt gun week. Looking forward too both!

Wife bought an apple pie at Costco couple weeks ago. Threw it in the freezer for thanksgiving. Things the size of my tundra rim! Weighs close to 5lbs. Typically I’m not a fan of mass produced pies, but this one was pretty dang good. Throw it in the microwave for 35-40 seconds and pour a cup of coffee!
