So how do the A/T3 wear? I have a 2017 F350 with the 6.7 that is my daily driver and in the spring-fall I tow a 42 foot camper, bass boat, or a trailer with 2 rzr's on it. I am on my 4th set of tires and will be buying new again this spring. I have had Michelins, Cooper, Mastercraft and now Nittos. Not a bad average of 21K for a 1 ton but I know it can be better. I have heard good reviews on the Toyo and Falkens and just wanted to see how you all liked them. As you can tell I am not a fan of any one manufacture and I still run stock size.

8,500 miles on mine with no complaints. 50,000 mile warranty, so what do you have to lose? Might be a better warranty with a more normal size. Probably the same fuel in my truck from the pic above for comparison.

I had a similar truck in AK but its the dark gray short bed. When we moved back I knew that I was going to buy a 5th wheel and traded in for a long bed. I like the looks of the front end on your year vs mine. Anyway what size tires are those and good to know about the warranty. If I would rotate tires every 5K miles maybe I would get more but I rotate every other oil change

325/60/20 sounds right? Measures out 36x13x20

In AK i ran Bridgestone Dueler REVO 2 on my stockers. Toyo MT with siping cut in on my bigger tires.

It’s time to replace the tires on my truck (‘03 Sierra 1500 2wd) and I’m looking to upgrade from the junk street tires that I currently have. I’m looking to upgrade to some ATs for the added traction in less than ideal conditions. I’m not trying to magically transform my 2wd into a 4wd or start hardcore off-roading or anything like that lol. I’ve had a few touchy situations in loamy grass/soil and moderate mud where just the added traction would have been all I needed. I’m also not looking to go oversized, just sticking with stock.
I’ve read reviews ad nauseam and have it narrowed down to a couple that I think would fit the bill.
1.) General Grabber AT2 (well reviewed for all conditions)
2.) Toyo Open Country AT3 (well reviewed for all conditions, maybe too aggressive for a 2wd?)
3.) Cooper Discoverer AT3 (well reviewed except not great for moderate mud)

I think all of these have been mentioned at one point in this thread but not sure if anyone has experience with them on a 2wd (insert truck joke here 😅). I’d appreciate any input y’all might have, thanks in advance!

I've owned 2 and 3. I would go with 2. Mainly because I know how much sitting your truck does. The other 2 are know for cracking and flat spots. My work truck currently has the Cooper and aren't very quiet or friendly.

BTW, I have that Toyo on my truck now. Even with how wide they are, I hardly ever lock my hubs. Traction is way better than the MT tires it did have on it. The smaller sizes really aren't all that aggressive looking IMO.

Ok folks if you have them please give me some feedback. These will be going on a 1 ton and towing 5th wheel and other trailers. The size will be 295/70R/18. There is about 50 dollar difference between the 3 so price is pretty mute.

Falken Wildpeak AT3 - (tire shop had good things to say about this tire) $268
Cooper ST Maxx $315
Toyo Open Country AT3 - (tire shop had good things to say along with Giles) $320

Going to be getting all 4 new tires soon. When I bought the truck past February and noticed needed new tires soon. Last month there was a screw in left front tire. So, put a plug in it…good to go. Until last Friday, noticed on the dashboard the tire pressure on the display kept dropping. Went from 36 psi to 24. So , put more air in it. Yesterday, it went from 36 to 15 psi. Dang…. More air in it then.. 36 psi the whole time to home. Took the tire off and put the spare in. This is the same tire that had plug in it. I’m thinking plug isn’t any good….wasn’t the plug it was something else.

I hate buying tires lol. I’d recommend straying away from Goodyear. I have had a lot of balance and road force issues with them. It took us 24 tires to make a good set for a customer one time lol
