I love lever action guns but the new 357 , 1894 Marlin Trapper seems over priced for a middle of the road caliber. Maybe I’m just getting out of touch. Was interested until I saw the price.
Good looking shooting iron though.

Stainless is a premium
the large loop was a premium or after market piece

Inflation is real

"New" iteration of Marlin with no idea of quality yet

If this was a jm Marlin a few years ago it would have been 8-1200, so maybe 🤔 🤷

As long as people keep paying the inflated prices it's going to keep getting worst. Haven't bothered with a gun show in a couple years either used guns are just as bad anymore . In time it'll settle down , hopefully...

"a sleek, modern take on the classic lever action rimfire rifle."

Oh fuck off Savage, just make the damn rifle how the rifle should be made and knock it off with all this edgy modern bullshit. If you want to make a cool rifle then go make a cool rifle, if you want to make a lever gun then make the damn lever gun how it should be made.

My 44mag ss1984 went for $1100

Per a previous post of mine, SS 1984 in 44mag jm barrel went $1100 2 years ago

Way too much. I think I paid almost 900 bucks for a 45-70 SBL 7-8 years ago. And a similar gun from Marlin is double in price? Sheeesh.

Just chiming in here and completely unrelated to above. I had been looking for the Henry Heirloom deal where you get to pick the serial number and they hadn't run the special in a couple years. I wanted to get matching LA guns for me (Bigger, straight-walled) and my son (22) with a serial number in relation to my family. Well, Mom and Dad just passed, both in the past year (throw my grandmother in there as well, turned out I lost all 3 inside 8 months). Decided to just get the 22 for my son. Was able to get it with their birthdays and his initials. It just came in from Vance's a couple weeks ago. Can't wait to get him out to shoot it.

Congrats on the 22, sorry to hear about all the loss
