Even had the rewinder sitting next to the VCR...next to the huge receiver, next to the record player, on top of the huge TV counsel, sitting between two huge speaker boxes...looking in the mirror at my huge hair. It was the time of huge...big is better.
Back when kids said sir and ma’am. Back when they got a beating when deserved and a mouthful of soap when they mouthed off or said something they shouldn’t. Back when nature, neighbors, the community help raise kids. Not YouTube and electronics.

Cars where you could tell make, model, and year just by looking at it.
Cars now all look the same with only slight difference and a different car company emblem on them.

And the bright/dim controls were on the left floor boards as a nice foot button .
Not one of half a dozen possible directions on a damn turn signal.
Back when the gas tank was behind the seat in your pickup truck.
And the gas cap was behind the rear license plate so you didn't have to look for the stupid arrow on your fuel gage to know what side of the pump to pull up on.
