Live From the Stand 2017.

Everyone is out...mowing lawns, blowing leaves, kids playing, guns going off, burnouts! Sounds like July 4th out here. Lots of laughter from kids in the distance, I can’t complain it’s beautiful out for November.

Tree house hunt with the Mrs and her pink bear

The noise all stopped here but some asshat drove all the way down the lane here... There is an abandoned house back here (it is 1/2 a mile off the road) and nothing else. The thing that really pisses me off about it is that we have a damn gate across the driveway by the road... so there isnt any accidentaly driving back here... damn people have no respect i swear.... i will have to put a camera up on thd drive to get plate numbers and turn them into the sheriff i guess.

From 4:30-5:30, best hunt I have had in years. That doe was in no hurry and was slowly making her way towards me until the neighbor fired up his Ford 5000, hooked up a hay wagon and brought his son just to the South side of the woods to finish loading his cut wood. The buck n doe both moved back deeper in the woods real slow and put on a nice show in my binocs for a long time before slowly walking back where they came from. I have never seen this buck and he was just pure majestic to watch.

I located a scrap the other day in that area and decided to use the cut corn field to sneak in and hang a camera to see who is using it. Going to go locate a tree for a climber during the rain tomm and pull the card to see if anyone used it overnight.

Overall it was a great evening to be in the woods with the smell and sounds of fall all with decent temps. I’m ready for some snow and sub zero temps though!

Put a hole in an 8 point tonight. Shot was a little back but still hit ribs and quartering away slightly. I believe offside ribs stopped passthru. Shot with hypodermic rage two blade and had same thing happen to a buck few years ago. Probably liver hit and maybe one lung . Blood that I looked at didn’t smell or have any food particles in it. mid body hit up and down wise. Arrow still in him when he ran off. Great blood In the crp grass that I followed for 25 yards. Giving him 4 hours. Going back at 1030 to track. Chance of rain after 1 am.
He was by himself. He Checked a scrape by my stand. 20 yards and Rushed shot and shoulda took extra second to settle pin. Happened quick. Hope to post pics later.

Hunted a new stand tonight. Corn is still up and its a nasty thicket. Skunked. Did hear about Half the county shooting guns
Guessing after the suckeyes started getting routed , the locals had to let of steam
