My buddy and I are on a doe mission on public ground. First time at this spot. Hunting off the ground. I put him in a sweet spot overlooking a Y in the creek with several good trails intersecting in the bottom below him. He's tucked behind a root ball up on the hillside. I wondered another 150 yards up the holler and sat down. Going to still hunt to a spot somewhere close once I can see what's around. Enjoying the process of hunting a new spot totally blind!

Well, that was exciting. A damn tree just fell over the creek to my left. Of course while I was staring I heard something bound off to my right.....

Pops sat till 10:30. Saw 3 does and 2 bucks. Starting to eat and drink heavily... back at it in the am if he's up for it

Settled in. Hot as hell but we will see what happens. Should have worn my tree bark camo loin cloth.

Despite my better judgement, I'm out. Too hot to have much for expectations, but the land owner started taking off corn today. Might as well give it a try.
