Live From the Stand 2017.

2 groups of doe with younger deer at daybreak. 1 small buck sniffing scrapes and annoying the doe. Very quiet since abou 7:40.

Woke up too snow, then it rained and nothing moved they, hunting a pinch point between food and bedding area.... First morning sit in a while... Felt good to get out...

Lost count. Absolutely covered. Snapped one pic before phone died. He'd of got it if there was 'spear season'. Smoker still blows my mind.

I got skunked. Absolutely disheartening to say the least. I'm an absolute black hole for success in the deer woods.

Full summary:

Walked in as it was getting light. Saw a single doe and hit the deck. Watched her for about 10 minutes. As soon as she was out of sight, I got up, walked a few steps, and heard he'll break loose behind me. 2 older bucks where on the move. Think I would have shot the one if giving an opportunity, but no luck.

Finally got to stand and immediately had 4 does cruise by with a small fork horn slightly harassing them. They walked off and a couple minutes after that had a spike roll by. After that the buck I got the pic of showed up and worked a scrape damn near underneith my stand. A couple more does, possibly the same ones, but only a pair came through at distance.

Great first sit at this spot. Don't think I'll be hunting anywhere else. This spot has the acreage and the deer are always there. Just need some biggins to show face and the last couple years they have been there.

I'm jacked up to get back out there

Damn Gordo! Make it happen buddy, it is your year!!!

Skunked this am, got home and changed, looked out at my apple trees and there's the biggest 10 point I've ever seen. Should've hunted that stand I guess....

Just bought a tag for my 8 yr old . He's shooting the crossbow good . Hopefully he gets a opportunity at his first deer tonight . Fingers crossed .

He's been really inconsistent . Put a eye patch on him and he started stacking them today .

Good luck too y’all who are out, someone mentioned potato soup earlier this week and it’s been in the back of my mind to make it, it’s raining and sounded like a good afternoon project lol...
Them deers will be there tomorrow lol
