Thanks, Phil. When I hung it tonight the ribs were a little bruised (nothing broke) and it's leg was swelled up pretty good below the hind qtr. I don't know if it would have been ok or not but I couldn't let it walk. Only thing that makes me mad is the doe that was with it was one that I'd really like to get rid of because she's one of those blowers that drives you nuts lol

Great job! That doe will come back!

Mixing things up a bit for today.

I'll be hunting the creek bottom throughout most of the day since this will be pretty much the last cold day of gun week.

The weather is going to turn for the worst over the next 24 hours. Warm & rainy!

I'm hunting literally within 100 yards from my shop at the moment.

This evening, I'll be taking it to the other extreme by hunting about a mile in a half further downstream, the furthest point on the property from my home.

It'll be an adventure.

Zero shots heard at this point btw...

Good luck to whomever is hunting today!

Got settled in the stand at 8:45. Gonna sit until noon and see what happens. Yesterday I saw 3 does between 3:30 and 4:30 then nothing in magic hour. Thinking maybe it's more late morning and early evening movement.

Watched one yesterday tear ass around for about 5 minutes. When I saw her coming I was sure a big boy was on her ass. When she turned and ran back, then came back at full speed, then tore a hard right and every other direction you could think of, I realized she was just screwing around. That deer ran all over for a solid 5 minutes, jumping, bucking, and having a ball. I figured she was just warming up.

I’ve finally made it out.(just now)We currently have three Missy’s in camp,”AKA The shirtless boys” one miss was yesterday and one this morning.

Camps batting a zero. Hoping I have the chance to be the hero. Blahahahhaha if I’m lucky enough to see one and that occurs. “The Shirtless Boys” got more ball busting coming.

I still don’t think the deer around here even know it’s season. Shooting has been at a minimum. Hopefully a big ol doe comes walking/crawling/ blind/deaf/dumb/ by. She’s getting it.

Anyhow good luck to anyone that’s out. Sure is beautiful out here.

That deer sounds like my cousins ex. Boy was that a mess! Bitch was absolutely bat shit crazy. Just saying if she was a deer that’s probably what she would be doing all gun season long.

Well, I'm about two hours into it now and two antlerless deer seen within 30 yards, and I'm finding plenty of good deer signs that are fairly fresh.

I also discovered many human boot tracks as well. I suspect the 'Orange Army' did a deer drive through here within the past few days.

I did find some awesome heavy producer oak trees at the top of the big hill 'TOO' and a heck of a tree rub.

Now I'm working my way back down with the wind still in my face, right towards the two deer that I encountered.

Slight sprinkling rain off & on 'TOO', which is making the ground soft & quiet for me :)

You can expect I'll report back later.

Until then, I'll continue having a blast chasing these majestic White-Tailed Deer (y)

Columbus due North by about 40 miles.

Anyhow,,,

I'm about at the bottom of the hill now and I came across several built box blinds along the way.

Some used & some old abandoned ones.

I'm currently hanging out for the rest of the day in what appears to be an abandoned tree blind. Looks like it hasn't been used in years. There are several of these as well in the area.

It's roughly 15' off the ground, open platform.

So I'm going to park my @$$ right here for the remainder of today's hunt.

I know I've hiked one mile at least already and I'm still about three quarters of a mile from my home yet.

I'm gonna see what might happen here this evening.

Good luck 'TOO' whomever is hunting!
