Yes indeed, Ric! I was super tempted to kill one of the does as she stood quartered away at 18 yards. It's just a temptation, but I was strong enough to let it go. I don't know what's wrong with me this season, I'm in the mood to shoot something and be done! Weird. I just saw your earlier question too. Mason and I were probably 5-600 yards apart.

Ryan, I looked it up one time as a farm we hunted seemed to have a slew of trees with leaves that looked like that. Chestnut Oak is what I found them to be. They are most abundant in rocky terrain which this property had much of. The acorns are longer and look more bullet like but I think deer like them a lot.
