I’m in a treestand this morning. At one point I could see 8 different greys and 2 fox squirrels. I did see 8 deer, too. Even had a nice adult doe with twins pass me at 10 yards. No shots. Unreal. My season of suck continues. Rats all back in bed now. Deer, too. I think I need some

no, I'm in for the day, but most days, squirrels are like most any other game animal, moving early in the morning for some period of time, then again late in the day. if, when, and how long they are active is anyone's guess. I've been watching squirrels from treestands for 35 years, been hunting them with dogs for over 10. the only thing I can say with any real certainty is that there is positively no rhyme or reason to when or how long rats are active. none. go hunt and have fun. if there are lots of squirrels and plenty of food on your place, then you will probably see some squirrels every time you go out.
squirrels practically always know you are there no matter how stealthy you think you are, full concealment blinds notwithstanding. move slow, be quiet, wear camo and your odds of getting into good range for a shot go up. or get a couple of squirrel dogs.

Joy is still at it and I am going here and there as well. I walked in on 9 last night and had to switch spots mid-stream. Ran to a shed/blind we had and the wind was not so good. Darn deer came across the wind (7 total) and the one I wanted (Big Ol Biotch) escaped her fate at the last moment. I wouldn't shoot one, but wanna donate some meat to a needy family I know of.
Doing a hang and hunt tonight. Bitch may see me in this maple...but she ain't gonna smell me in the shed!

Joy lost count no horns but she lost count of does. There was that many deer back there tonight. I on the other hand had three I could have shot but not the big one I was looking for and then five more came streaking by when Joy come out of the woods but it was fun.

Well we saw 2 buck and 4 doe. She had the safety off and the finger on the trigger and the buck turned towards us so she didn't have a shot. In re-positioning he saw us and spooked. He was a 3 or 4 point.
Well...Yea. LOL
But I seen 14 and had 6 shot ops. Big bitch just stayed in the shadows like she knew it would be her last....

She wasn't that disappointed. She said at least it wasn't a big one. Was nice to see some deer.
