Beginning to wish I would've brought the .22 instead of my stickbow. I'd have at least 4 squirrels by now!

We seen a couple of fawns. Rained off and on. Bubble guts hit me...probably go for a walk after this to show Jon the property.
Aborted the morning hunt due to thunderstorms and 2" of rain. The evening is looking a little better, warm, but better.
Didn't see Shit so took the wife to breakfast.
you're allowed to shoot squirrels with your deer arrows. or carry a couple of squirrel arrows with you. like these. top one is a steel blunt with a slot milled to accept a Magnus bleeder blade, bottom is home made from a .357 casing with slot cut by hand and blade made from scrap banding steel. super glue the blades in. these don't stick in trees very often, but will knock the shit out of a squirrel. direct hits on trees remove blades sometimes.

Only shot my bow once. Need daily shooting for 2-3 weeks before I head out. Mid to late October I'll join you guys. If earlier it will be because I'm confident in my shooting. Or. . . I'll take my kid's crossbow.
We laid eyes on 5 deer or at least the same 2. Got blown at by deer that had no way of smelling us. Had everyone been on time, I think we would’ve had an arrow sail. Back at it once it cools down.
All settled in, forgot the release 50 yards from the truck. Had to go back. Ahhh it's always something opening weekend. Hopefully my only mistake tonight.
