I was hoping to see some late rut activity today but with the big herd and numerous bucks just casually hanging around seems like the book is shut on that in my woods. I dont know if they would stand each other if there was any hit of rut still happening.
Did see a second doe group of about 8 before dark and numerous lone deer. This has gotta be the biggest one day total I've ever seen.
Haha! We didn't have one with us either Hunna! We suck.
We had some heavy rut action. Confirmed 3 bucks, one long fight and countless does. Only a few fawns came in close enough for a shot. Levi didn't want one of those until the end and we just couldn't get him on one then. What a BLAST! I had faith the entire hunt something was gonna happen. Just memories today boys.

Ended up having a group of does file in at the last 15 minutes of legal shooting time. Shot the biggest one in the group. First deer I have ever harvested with a compound bow after hunting the past 12 years with the stick bow. Just as fun!! Also, the hot pink dampeners on my limbs are from the bow shop I work at customer didn’t want them so I declared that they were the “sisterhood of the traveling silencers” and everyone at work has to kill one with them on their bow

So this morning was more of the same. Counted 27 does through this piece of bottom and one shooter buck along with 7 smaller first and second year bucks. The shooter was an extremely tall but even with the ears 10 with giant 3s I mean this deer had to have 13-14 inch threes... fed on corn from 748 til 805. I watched him leave I thought damn, I shoulda killed him. Taking a little break, back in at three. Still looking for mr. special lol

Just saw a button buck trying to lock up with a decent 10 in front of my cam. He quickly found out that’s an awful idea lmao hopefully snagged some cool pics will follow up tomorrow. They’re still ruttin get after it!!

I’m doing okay thanks for asking man! I’d love to get out for extended gun but with my wife due any day now with our 2nd I think it’ll be tough to do. Haven’t been out since gun but this movement the last few nights has given me a lot of false hope lol time to move the office back to the deck [emoji1787]

We are out. Got a friend who has never killed a buck before. He thinks we are doe hunting. But I got a different plan...Good Luck Everyone!
