Seen same buck twice 6:05 and 7:54. Really tall basket 8 may have some potential

First N wind of the seand we're behind the house for hunt #1 in our quest for K's first mature buck. Kenna has shot enough that under the absolute right circumstances, I'll let her pull the trigger on an antlerless deer or a smaller buck. But not tonight, big sis is in the hot seat and we're big buck or bust!

Patience is gonna be a virtual tonight. They came in downwind snorting and stomping, eventually settling down enough to commit. I lathered this blind in EverCalm and it did it's job. We were late because we all showered and that was clutch as well.
Up to 6 within 30 yards. Little bit of doe bleating from the older does. 4 of the does are mature and 1 of those is a horse!
Wild hunt. Covered up for 2 hours straight and had to have momma come get us after playing YouTube videos of a pack of coyotes and a pack of rabbit dogs, but they kept right on eating! As Brock would say, all the fun and none of the mess!

Absolutely awesome that they got to see that. Enjoy those times...they pass by in a blink.

Back in WV with my dad for a few days. Hoping he can knock something down at the feeder on our 22 acres. I’m sitting on a public ridge in a lowgap, raining acorns. Beautiful morning. Just had 3 little bucks at 60 yards after I did a grunt sequence. They started chasing each other around and went back over the hill.

I’ll be getting into the woods in about an hour. “Oak” has been showing up after his morning feed on the oak flat in transition to bedding around 130-2pm. Hopefully today is the day I catch him slipping.

Heading out here as soon as I get off....optimism is not where it should be. Yet once again I have a trespasser on this spot. Walking in yesterday and found his 2 cameras. Its a teenager and I'm a nice guy, but he has been warned now and will be charged if it happens again. Already went down this road with his grandfather and apparently he has taught him well!!!
