I am in the stand my dad shot his buck from last night. It is very gratifying as it begins to get light to see how this all played out for him!
I had intentions of hitting a new spot this morning. But when I woke up, a couple cell cams showed signed of a potential hot doe in this thicket… so I’m back in the same spot as yesterday. Nothing here yet. But a nice quiet crunchy morning, even if it is 45 degrees.
Been fairly slow, but rather steady. Occassional deer here and there during both my couple hour morning & evening hunts. Mainly all young bucks though, none of the ladies. One earlier just yards away. Too dark to tell what it was. I'll be pullin SD cards later today from all TCs to see what's been goin on lately. This kind of activity is typical though for my neck of the woods. It's the calm before the storm, which the real storm should be starting perhaps tomorrow, or over the next few days. I've been hunting mainly at the property edge waiting on any of the annual big roamers/travelers, yet to get to any of the other 6 stand locations. None of those have been hunted out of this season so far. I'll get more aggressive starting next week if nothing happens here over the next few days.
Oh, btw, I failed to mention, all the scrapes have opened up over the night, plus a new one where I've been huntin, which is my 'Western Stand'.

Right at day break a stud was moving through the yard checking on this doe. Only got his left side rack on video a few days ago, hoping to get the whole package view to see what we are dealing with. Good luck gents!

Delivering a new hydro excavation truck to the city of canton today, I have seen well over 25+ deer since leaving Cambridge ten minutes ago! I would also say over ten have been bucks. A lot of chasing around the edges of CRP and cut ag fields! Good luck to all today! Patience is a virtue!

Dang @Sgt Fury, he’s gotta be laying up close maybe even watching your pile or you from the DW side. If not he’s easy within an earshot of that pile. You have a doe bleat or can you can work? Light grunting my work to but I’d not get too aggressive cuz that smart ole swamper likely would come in slow and easy from the DW and get suss, as my girls would say. Lol

Anyhow, pulled SD card at that setup I hunted this morning, and for the past four days. The ladies showed up yesterday midmorning, about 15 minutes after I climbed down.
For the evening yesterday, I had just one young buck encounter underneath me, then had to wait on him to leave just after quittin time. Not even 15 minutes later, 'THUNDER' showed up.
Missed him by share minutes. It's bound to happen, sooner or later. I'm in no hurry...
I attached a couple of 'TANK' too.

Getting warm and windy. 7 point looking for love, a doe and bb this morning. Going to get down and get some clothes washed. Back at it this afternoonand hard the rest of the week.
