Awesome evening in the deer stand. I saw 21 deer in total, with 12 of them walking on my side of the line. I also put eyes on the first target buck of the year. He came out of the neighboring property across the road… An absolute beast of a deer. Pretty far off, so I couldn’t make out how many points he has… but he’s a no-doubter Boone & Crockett deer. Pretty exciting times lay ahead.

I got it all skinned down while the wife did the annual cleaning of the beer/deer/bait box. Then I completely went to shit. I will not drag another deer this season.

I grabbed dad's benefit shirt and said "come on old man, let's go for a walk and play some brown is down" old school hunting. Like how we started. Snapped a pic and sent it to the boys. View attachment 162652
Pulling in I spotted some deer. So I hustled to cut them off. Soon I was rewarded with a tender BB. Thanks dad! View attachment 162653
I was covered up in deer and probably could've filled all 3 tags. I didn't get greedy. Waited until I couldn't see any deer and started the drag. That part hurt...probably don't need to do that again this year.
Congrats and welcome to the Spoon and Crockpot club once again

Yeah, with the truck :ROFLMAO: during my morning coffee and scouting run around my place this morning.
I am amazed at the amount of deer I seen without running around in a diesel. Joe has a story about Alex and this too. I have a couple myself before I realized it was the truck telling the deer I was there.

Absolutely miserable morning sit as far as weather goes. Soaked in rain, breezy and just down right cold. Deer were on their feet from 630am til about an hour ago. Saw Mr 11 and watched him work 4 scrapes through the sideways rain down the power lines to 42/43 yards. Held at full draw for what felt like 3/4 minutes waiting for a shot and I got uncomfortable. So I let down… he work right off that oak flat to my west and kept on pushing!!! So close but yet so far. Total deer seen was 14. 3 of which were antlered and the rest does. Going to get warmed up now

We took advantage of the miserable weather to hang 2 more stands today. I'm surprised nobody provides a service like this lol. If it wasn't for Tyler doing the actual hanging part I would be grounded. This old body just doesn't bend like that anymore.
People are so ate up about deer, they wouldn't let some stranger knowing what they have. 🤣

I climbed my stands this summer, removed the cable lock, climbed back down. Picked up the pole saw and cut the straps securing the stands and walked them down. My buddy helped me move and put them back up. I get by with a little help from my friends…. 😀👍🏼

Little breezy this evening. I am in a new stand we put out in the rain today. Nice little oak flat going into a hay field. It's gonna be a tight window if something shows up though. I can count 19 rubs from the size of my pinky to the size of my wrist. Wife is out as well across the street in her tower stand over looking a clover plot. Anyway good luck to all that are out
