Saw a velvet covered spike right before dark. Slow evening. At least I dropped a pouch of SD cards on the way back to the house so I can go look for them tomorrow.

I’ve lived what you are saying believe me. I quit hunting WV for 8 years because I was tired of killing spikes. But to be honest, I see more spikes in Ohio now than in WV. Back in the 80s if you saw a spike in Ohio it was big news. Now it’s very common.W VA 11 point! I thought about it.....

3 does for me. Gonna get back out in the morning weather pending. Looks like we got some storms pushing in but may be able to squeeze in a short hunt.

I slipped in early because this stand needed a rope and hooks, Been here 15 minutes and just had a doe go through. We planted clover on our mulched ridge but stilt grass overtook out there too. Now it’s 2 foot tall brown dead grass. There’s going to be a war on stilt grass the off season.

Packed up and headed to ky for the early muzzleloader after work tomorrow. Mainly going down to get the cell cams fixed and put on scrapes but we might get lucky.

Thanks. I saw this doe last week. It was a Metro Park hunt and tomorrow was my last day. She came into the oak flat with a small buck.
