Feels like I should be at the beach but I am up in a tree. Bumped one bedded 30 yards behind stand. Sitting in corner of secluded clover field hoping a big buck is getting so wound up with testosterone he can’t sit still anymore. Only thing that is certain, I have a fridge full of beer back at the house. Off for next week-good luck all.
We've been hunting them wrong ...
Saw a big boy on the way to church. My wife asked "how do you know it's a big boy?" I said "because he is half a mile away in the middle of a field and I can tell he has white sticking out the top of his head." She was like "just looked like a brown blob to me." 
Yep. With white protruding. From that distance, that is good enough for me. Want a basket rack normal small body. Too bad it isn't where I can hunt. Decisions decisions. Just finished shooting my bow. Need to decide where to hunt. Crap shoot this time of the year. That is two decent to respectable big boys I've seen in open fields in the last 3 days. I haven't seen any chasing yet but I suspect we are getting closer.

@Outdoorsfellar funny not so funny story about that… I had to photoshop Michael Phelps face on him to make it sting a little less. I am much wiser now, for the most part. If a buck has a hot doe pushed out onto a peninsula with the wind in your favor, wait it out. Don’t assume they won’t swim 1/4mi+ across a lake lol.
Wife and kids were at the inlaws place so I decided to hunt tonight. Wind is picking up again. Weather sucks. But I don’t watch the NFL and I don’t feel like doing any honey-do’s… so here I sit. Got up at 4:15 this morning so now I’ve got a pop tart and a 12 oz Red Bull giving me some wings. Let’s hope that’s my new good luck charm.

I’m up switched spots, so I don’t kill that 110 inch buck from this morning, in a big woods for north west ohio

Also in. Wanted to make sure the blind was still there/ok after the blow mostly, but now I hear combines in corn up N and most of those deer should come this way

Moved from the river bottom to explore new areas. Saw 1 small buck this morning and after a little scouting around there just wasn’t enough other sign to keep me there.
Lots of oaks, fresh deer and turkey sign, and the squirrels are getting busy hoarding acorns right now.

530 PM today saw a buck following a doe. Not chasing just following.
She was not in a hurry. Seems a little early for that behavior but there it is.

Damn wind got one of my best rut stands last night. Moved some cams and worked on drywall tonight was bummed when I walked 3/4 mile back to find that.

Deer were up and chasing tonight close to dark. Had a good 8 pointer locked down with a doe. He never left her side, except when to run off the younger bucks. Heard him snort wheeze twice which was really cool.

Ya I would have been there last night if the wind died down it was 50mph it seemed like till after dark. Not quite sure on exact speed but I’m sure I’m close.
