Left my rattling antlers at home to leave room for my bibs. Two peewee league bucks and a 60-70lb doe so far. No bucks bothering her. I think her sister is off getting educated. Cue in "she's only 17" big hair music. Except probably less in deer years. What a shame. Lol. Saw a mink earlier and now an owl again. Left sunglasses on seat of the truck again. Sun is climbing. Going to be a win for an hour or so. Not expecting much. I'm in between all the "good spots." Playing my best card for this SE wind. Only takes one instance and things can change.

Another night, no mature bucks in any of the 4 cell cams at the farm. Only hunting the AM today, then relieving my wife and staying with 2 sick kids. Behind the house listening to coyotes and the morning commute. Only bumped one getting in, which is par for the course. This is a late morning spot, so 10-12 will be the window of opportunity if I get one. Hoping to see my first shooter of the year...
Pro tip put a cam in there room , you can hunt more:sneaky:

Had a good hunt last night on that fresh picked corn field. If it had been gun season I would of killed what I think is a 150 inch 8 point. The does had just fed away from me when he came out and he went straight to them. A couple minutes earlier and he would have been at 10 yards like the does were. Gonna sneak back in there tonight for the first sit ever with a decoy. 3 does this morning at my parents i'm already down the blind I was sitting in was made for crossbow or gun hunting and I couldn't draw my bow if I wanted to.

Yesterday evening was just as hot as the morning. 7 different bucks were pushing does through the field last night. Same 10 pt showed up but a new thick 8pt who looked old appeared as well. He wasn’t much for score but definitely mature. Of course he presented a 30 yard shot. I mulled over whether I was going to shoot him. Drew my bow. He looked right at me and ducked and spun with the arrow flying high. Lol guess I wasn’t supposed to shoot that one. This morning has been slow. Couple does and a coyote that busted me when I was going to shoot him. Good luck today fellas!

Do you have good background cover? They seem to be picking up your movement.

Does all over the place. Got permisson to go after a locked down buck in a feeder ditch you could probly walk right up to and shoot down at him big body fella but not it after a good look at him. A lone fawn wondering aimlessly across the prairie currently. Im going to split wood keep a look out and take my boy out tonight.

Heading out this evening for our annual rutcation in Lawrence county. I won’t be “live” much with spotty at best cell service. Might head into town Friday during the monsoon to catch up here lol. I’ll be looking to whack a doe since I don’t have a buck tag. Really hoping my buddies can fill their tags this weekend. Saturday and Sunday look great!

There's been some rather decent deer movement @theotherfarm this mornin. It's been a few days since I've seen this amount of deer activity in the AM hours at that location. I believe things are about to bust loose anytime there. Should be another fun hunt this evening hopefully.

Anyways, good luck to all those that's out or will be getting out today!
