Not entirely sure of your meaning. Can you elaborate more for me, thanks!
Maybe I'm wrong, but are you not hunting the same spots you'll be taking them? If it is the same spot, and if I were you, and if I really wanted to put a young hunter on a deer, I wouldn't be hunting day and night for the same deer I was hoping to see the young man shoot. Every time you go in those woods, you're educating those bucks to your presence. You may think you're not, but you are. To each his own, but it's not how I'd be approaching things if it were me.

I appreciate your concern, thanks!

I understand that you do not know me or the deer around in my area. I now understand where you are coming from though. I live with the deer. The spot I've been hunting is in my back yard and is covered with wildlife scent far more than mine. I have no worries nor concerns when it comes time for a hunt in our woods. The deer are educated pattern-wise when it comes to me and I use that against them. I'm a smoker and for scent control, I don't do any special. I play the wind as best as I can and that's about it for the most part.

If you care to discuss further, I'd be more than happy to sit down with you near the fire and share all my secrets with you. I hope you at least consider the idea if you're really interested. If not, that's okay too. No hard feeling on my part.

4 good bucks, including 💎, and perhaps more that I couldn't see. I watched the two of the four feed, then all drink, socialize, spare and make new tree rubs. All four are now bedded within 50 yards of me and things are now quiet. Most all is captured on camera.

Just heard more movement. No real horse play yet. Gotta go!

Good luck to anyone else out this evening!

You are going to sleep in the tree tonight I guess. If the woods is that quiet it will be a challenge to leave undetected. Good luck

In a tree, not entirely sure why. It’s warmer than it has been and the wind is swirling like a mofo. It’ll once again be a miracle if I see anything, especially in range. Both “annual” scrapes in the area haven’t been touched and the camera has been dry here, but I didn’t have anything better to do so fugg it. Hoping to get lucky and have a mature buck wander through munching on acorns. I’m only a couple hundred yards away from some buck bedding so we will see. Likely won’t shoot a doe unless I’m given a wide open 20yd chip shot. Good luck to anyone else out.

PS thanks to this warm up the mosquitoes are real active again. Love it 🙃

It's been a slow scrape year at my place also. I think we will see them opened this weekend. Probably as we are sleeping I'm sure.
