How about one more to rub it in. Again, not a definite shooter, but I know the neighbors want to shoot him, so it mighta happened. The deer gods truly hate me
21 so far this morning. 10 different bucks. 6 different 2 1/2’s, four of which I let walk at 15 or less. Could have shot two adult does or their fawns, too. The one buck I would shoot stayed just out of range. Texas 4x4. Tall, wide, long beams, perfectly evenly, no mass. Still in the 130’s easy.
Up to 8 does and 4 bucks. Solid sit all things considered. That said, this is about as late in the year as I've been without seeing a really good buck back here (130"+ or 4+). Definitely a sign of the pressure and change in herd quality that's taken place here in the past decade. Like I told my cousin this week, the good old days are gone, literally and metaphorically.
I’m in for the first time since the trip south. Pile of unantlered deer on this property, so I’m hoping they wanna get a nibble of acorns or corn despite it being 60° and windy as balls. Love this stand, setup and property. Whether I see anything or not I’m happy to be out enjoying this weather before I go back to reality on Thursday for a couple days. Good luck if any one else is out.
Just got home from work was gonna head back out to the shop but they are picking the corn next door so I rushed out still in my work clothes but have a perfect wind.
Live from the only spot of service in this wma! Been in the woods twenty minutes. I got this one down and a buddy of mine shot one that’s about 130#s. Stay tuned!
Doc says it's definitely pinkeye, but it did it fast enough to let us hunt the last 90 minutes. The wind is all over. If we don't get winded, it'll be a miracle. This is our first hunt together in a month and her first at the farm all season, so it was worth the effort to squeeze it in after the day we've had!
