Was a slow afternoon till four does came in at 4:00 and fed under me on acorns for a hour. I was penned down and couldn't move a muscle. I hate that! They finally moved on and I could relax but not for long as I soon spotted him moving my way. Came by me at around 12 or so yards at a steady walk but slightly slowed a little as he entered my largest shooting lane. Focused just behind the leg and let it fly. I hit farther back then I wanted! He never broke into a death run or picked up speed which shocked me. He took four or five steps and stopped. Was behind some big trees I couldn't see much of him as I thought maybe I had gut hit him. Then he continued for only twenty or thirty more yards and started getting really weak stumbled then fell over 😁 I watched him lay motionless till it was almost dark. Lowering my bow down to go check him out deer snorted and exploded in every direction. I had no idea they where even there. I've had a great season one of the best of my life and could not be more thankful! I know I'm tired and ready for bed. So congratulations to everyone that got to be in the woods today!
