Off today through all next week. Decided to use today to get ready and start tomorrow due to wind gusts and rain. Damn woods appear to be on fire with chasing, especially mid-day, based on cameras. Dumbass decision number 4,257.
Back in the seat. Didn't even bring any beer. Not feeling it but the wife came home and was bitchy

Forgot my meds at home so climbed down around 11 an ran back home. Just my luck a nice one walked right in front of the camera a half hour ago.

Only made it till 9 it was stupid out, I did move my stand to a different spot for tomorrow and found a fresh scrape from last night, several beds, jumped 2 does and watched a young buck cruising while doing that. Rained out for the night

Afraid of pushing him if I go back down plus it's raining down there. Gonna sit in the blind behind the in-laws garage an hope for a random big boy to slip through. Ill head back down tomorrow morning an hopefully get a shot at him

The action around my home piece has been dead all week. I stayed under a roof all morning because of the rain, but now I’m on a hang and hunt mission in a public marsh. I’m downwind of a historically good bedding area. No intel lead me here… just a hunch. Went over my knee boots on the way in (remember to wear hip waders next time). Already saw a spike buck about 60 yards away. Here goes nothing!
I should put a zero gravity chair in here so I can sleep. I did see a squirrel.
