LIVE from the stand 2025-26

We’ve got a bumper crop of doe and fawns running around. 4-5 young bucks cruising daily as well.
There’s a couple very large doe that might not make it past gun season of if I have my way….

After forgetting my cell phone at the house, a battle royal with a tangled bow rope and dropping my gloves out of the stand, got settled in at shooting light. Mostly sitting here hoping to get the text from dad that he needs help with one. Got him set up in my stand from yesterday at the edge of a bench overlooking another bench 20 feet below. If a doe or a coyote stands there long enough I’ll give them a spitfire.

Well the last week mustve caught up to me i slept through my alarm this morning... wasted vacation morning . Have to work tomorrow so not worth driving down to coshocton today , might sit behind the in-laws house later hoping for a passerby that way I can get it skinned an quartered before I have to get sleep for work. Best of luck to those that are out! At least I stayed warm this morning lol

Had a shooter on is feet 45 minutes ago. He pushed a doe into a bowl that's known to be a hot spot when the rut is on. Unfortunately, it's not on our farm and I don't have a great spot to sit for this wind. Currently sitting in the truck trying to decide where to go...
Wait for this sun to do its thing and go sit on that great thermal spot you have on that hillside.

Had another doe with a small buck in tow come through. I once again under estimated the temps and wind lol. Have a plan A and B for this evening. A involves a pond and being in a tree and somewhat conservative. B involves a more aggressive approach near a massive food source from the ground. We’ll see what the coin flip tells me what to do.

Opted for the blind closest to the bowl he ran into. If the does are locked down, it is what it is. But if they're close to being in and he sticks with them, I have a good chance of seeing them later this afternoon. I'm in a good creek bottom funnel with bedding all around. I'm in the game without being hung out to freeze to death in a tree. I can see a good bit of ground to call as well, so here goes nothing!
