Stay home. I think "unethical" is a strong word to use, but shooting a deer in the rain ain't the best decision IMO. You need to have a blood trail when shooting deer with archery tackle and shooting them in the rain opens the door for bad things to happen. The only time I force the issue is during the rut. But it has to be a special occasion for me to risk losing a blood trail.

I was going too stay home and it decided it wasnt going too rain. I was think about the blood trail also. I decided too go only because it had stopped raining.

We are having a lull in the rain right now. I wish I was in a tree. I mean I really, really wish.

Saw 5 tonight. All within 5 yards. 2 small bucks. Biggest being 125ish. And my special little lady was one of the 5

Didn't see squat this morning lol.... 4 for 4 on the skunks lmao.... On a good note, my buddy was 150 yards across a flat... Had a nice mature doe walk in behind him not offering any shot... He's already got a doe in the freezer so he's not too worried lol.... He did find a nice shed still hunting my way and a few well used scrapes.... Hard too believe they're freshening them up already....

Didn't hunt tonight but driving home deer where out in the fields everywhere north of Cbus. I think we had a window of clearing weather after rain earlier and more rain scheduled for tonight. They were getting their feed on.

Been in the blind since about 6:15. Heard 2 loud snort wheezes in the field next to me and so far one small doe just before the sun came up. Giving it another hour or so just in case.

If you climbed in a tree during the rain and sat the last hour and a half while it cleared off, I am guessing you saw good action last night. Wish I could have but a four letter word (W-O-R-K) won out.

In regards to scrapes, I saw one opened up yesterday morning on my way out. Had cam pics of a couple decent bucks going at it for 30min. Looked like the one was pestering the other while establishing a pecking order. The larger of the two stayed his ground and finished attending the scrape afterwords. Probably just out of frustration if I had to guess. Looked like a 3yr old 125-130" 8pt. You would think he would know what was up in regards to the rut by now. Maybe just was pissed at the other buck. I dunno. I am sure there are multiple reasons they tend scrapes.
