Live from the stand!

Trust me, id stay if I could. I gotta leave around 1:00 because asshole patents who don't hunt schedule a team football picnic for the 8th graders at 4:00. Screws up my evening. Don't they know life revolves around the rut??? Dicks

Pulled the card on the camera over the plot on the way out of the stand. Missed 2 bucks yesterday that came into the plot cause I chose not to come out, big mistake. They were in here at 1 and at 2:30 so I am waiting now. I am about 60 yards East of the plot hunting a popular travel path where the bucks usually cruise through scent checking the plot. I moved here this morning after the first buck came in and I was in the stand on the South West side of the plot. I love this stand cause I'm in a split V red oak about 25ft up. W/NW winds are fine for this stand too since most deer enter from the NE and walk in front of me down the travel path and then circle around my stand and walk off to the south. And they also exit the plot and head south so I'll catch them scent checking or after getting a bite to eat.

Had a pretty solid morning, several little guys feeling frisky and chasing. Snort wheezed a mid 30's 8pt in and just couldn't make him bigger so I elected not to shoot which was probably stupid bc this is by far my worst year on camera. He's actually an older deer 5+ that just never seems to get any bigger. I just know if I shoot a 130" I'm not going to mount it. Either way I walked a whooping 200 yards back to the house to grab a sandwich and now I'm heading back out. Maybe I'll film him tonight if he shows again since he's the biggest deer I've got on camera and he's showed up the last two days. For some reason the evenings have sucked at my place this year, fingers crossed. Maybe I'll whack him just to be done.... lol
Three days and still nothing. Got to be a lock down going on around here. Going back out around two to try again.

Going back to where i have been hunting. Havent seen shit in the last 3 sits, but im still confident a nice one is going to give me a shot.

Checked 6 cams and barely has any daylight movement. Just one 2 year old and a couple does moving during shooting light. Just been a strange couple of weeks.

Same in western Lucas, don't know about the lockdown but there has been nothing moving in my area during daylight

Beautiful buck! Sounds like it's picking up for most people on here at least compared to last week. I've been getting texts about big ones dying in the central part of the state here recently too.
