It's done for now. The only thing left is to wait and see if I see buzzards.

Got back in at 3 ran into two Mennonite boys that are hunting that property. One of them had seen the buck I shot. Didn't want to continue to just romp all over someone else hunting property. I gave it a go and to no avail. He is Ghost.
Before or after u shot it?

It was after. The first guy I ran into I asked, he said he hadn't seen it but his brother had last week. His brother is the second guy I ran into. I asked him about it and he said the same thing and pointed right to the corner I hunt.

Maybe I'll get lucky and he somehow survived.

Just shot a big doe with one of those rage heads I wanted to try. Nice thick trail of blood but need to get something to eat and go back out with a flashlight.

Fingers crossed. I really need to get some lighted nock arrows. Can't ever see where I hit and rarely recover the arrow. Snapped this picture right before my phone died in the woods. image.jpgimage.jpg

Thanks Chad! She ran off towards some thick shit so this could be a long night lol.

I had a big old lone doe come in about 4. I liked my odds. Shortly after she left, (after a half hour), I heard chasing in the direction she had gone. Sounded like they were tearing the woods down, grunting and all. They came within 50 yards or so, but I never could see them due to the tall CRP. Right at dark a small buck came by. That was it. Back at it in the morning.

I took advantage of the wetness to hang a new set for an all dayer tomorrow. Not far from where I've been seeing good action, but more of a funnel with better shot ops. It's an intersection of old quad trails that aren't used anymore due to logging. Hard left leads up a steep hill to a saddle that I walk in and out on from the field. The other left heads to my other stand. To the right goes into some serious thick shit above an old train tunnel that has been shut down as far as I remember. Then leads to tracks that are still in use. The area around the old tunnel is "crawl through" thick. Perfect place for lockdown and big bucks to hang out undetected.

To my back is a hill that goes straight up and down. So much that all I need to do is climb the hill and step off of it onto my stand. Yet, I'm still a good 30 feet above the intersection with good cover.

We shall see...
