Garrett wants to hunt in the morning. Showed him the maps. Showed him wind direction. Let him decide which stand would be best to hunt. We are hunting where he wants to hunt. Love to see it work out for the little man. If not, we might do some ground sits with the Ghostblind.

Good luck tomorrow Phil, and everyone else. I gotta believe things are going to get lively pretty soon. It seems by the lack of IKS threads that things are slow all over. But, being November, when it gets busy it will be REAL busy. If not, I've got a well-oiled auto-loader waiting in the cabinet. I'm sure the majority of you all do too!

I'm starting to get hungry myself. The thought of some back straps is making my mouth water..... Wrapped in bacon...... Rare.... Melt in my mouth goodness....

4 doe and 3 bucks, one of the Bucks chased down a doe and bred her..... He was a dink of a 6 point and the next two were even smaller.... The doe that got bred ended up 20 yards in front of me but couldn't get her too stop for a shot.....

Wind had them really skittish and on high alert....

I was in a stand that my buddy and his FIL set up a couple years ago.... Good spot and was 20' up in a 24"+ tree and it was pretty rock steady.... Wind wasn't bad down in this bottom.... But the wind up on top was horrible....

Witnessed my first serious rutting activity this season but unfortunately it was a tad late. I hunted on the ground in amongst some big rock outcroppings on the top shelf of a point at the head of a huge hollar. I heard one deep guttural grunt at 5 o'clock and caught a glimpse of decent horns about 75 yards below me. Saw another buck but a much smaller following the same path and direction about 15 minutes later. A friend was hunt the point opposite of me about 300 yards away and saw a different buck in which he video'd heading my direction at approximately 5:10. We both met down at our vehicles and talked about tonight's late movement till about 6. It was pretty dark by then and he opened his truck cab to put his bow and stuff inside when I heard a grunt coming down off the same hill I was on. I told Eric so he shut the door quietly and we stood there and listened. We heard grunts from 3 different bucks at various locations walking around all over this hill. A couple walked within 30 yards of where we stood oblivious to us. I also saw a doe that looked like she been ran hard about a 1/2 mile away on my way home.

It is my opinion that there is a shit ton of rutting and breeding going on during the safer nighttime conditions. This is another reason why many of us aren't seeing much during the daylight unless lucky enough to be set up close to where a breeding party is bedding. This lockdown is about to break loose I hope!

Hebbardsville..
Up and at it again. Today dad and I are hunting at our buddy's farm he just bought this year. It's full of sign and scrapes and he pulled his cards yesterday, showing some big bucks. I've been pretty aggrivated with how this year has elwent this far, so hopefully the change of scenery will help out. Also, it's not ever day I get to hunt with dad so I'm pumped about that too! The wind is about 15 mph right now, and I'm on a ridge top..but this spot looks good. Goodluck to everyone else out, and be safe.

Ric, I failed too mention that I was in a stand about a 100 yards from a bedding area as well.... Pines just off of it and they were in a thicket about 100 yards long and 30 yards wide.... One end is hardwoods and the other a cut cornfield.....
