I had another interesting evening last night. It was about 515 pm and I hear rustling in the pines to my left. So I stand up and start listening. All of a sudden I started coughing/choking uncontrollably. I was thinking WTF was that all about. LOL. Not a minute later that 10 point I've been waiting on comes strolling out of the pines. My eyes lit up. And my heart started racing. I'm watching him to make sure he makes the right turn to come across the culvert into the clearing where I need him. As he does I turn and grab my bow and get tension on the string. Once he crosses the culvert he stops for a split second behind some bushes allowing me to come to full draw. Once I'm set, he cruises on in and starts in on the corn and apples. I put my 30 yard pin on him and let one fly. He takes off and I froze. The 1st thought in my head was I just shot my 1st buck. I just shot my 1st buck. Holy shit I just shot my 1st buck. I wait a few minutes to catch my breath and let my heart rate come back down and text my BIL. I get all of my stuff ready and come down the ladder. I walked over to the area and find my arrow. CLEAN. One hair, no blood. I checked the area, no blood. I went and checked the area where I last saw him, no blood. DAMN. Im planning on skipping today b/c of the rain that is supposed to start around noon and go all night. I will be taking a 1/2 day tomorrow and all day Friday off. I hope I can come up with some blood on the ground in the next few days for you guys.

Dang it Dustin!!! Like Phil, I was hoping you killed that dude! Way to stick with it buddy and get back after it! Good luck!

Saw a nice 8 bedded in the middle of a wide open filed about 10 yards from a feeding doe. That was this morning on the way to work. Would've made a beautiful picture next to the hay bales and the pretty red sky this morning. We may be in another lockdown in some areas? Seemed they busted out of lockdown last Saturday through Monday in my area. If so, maybe this weekend they'll be out seeking again? I hope so.
