Saw a total of 9, all antlerless, and all moving fast.... They were either in the thick stuff or running out to the bottom alfalfa field.... Had two run by me at 20 yards @ 20 mph lol.... All in all a good night for viewing just not shooting.... That wind had them spooked.... I climbed down @ 4:55 too sneak around the drill pad and put a sneak on a couple.... But didn't see them before it got too dark....
Hey Dustin, that happened to me a couple times last year. For some reason when I get real excited my nose starts to run right down the back of my throat! I had to teach myself to remember to tilt my head forward. As long as I tilt my head forward, it just runs down my face. Sounds gross, but these deer are worth a little snot running down my face! The face mask is washable. Welcome to the unexplainable shit that happens when buck hunting! Lol
I'm going to try to hunt this morning if I can get across the creek safely. We got over 1" of rain but I'm hoping it stopped long enough ago for the water to go down. I opened the patio door and don't hear the creek 60 yds away down below so I should be OK. If I do hear it it's roaring deep and fast. That damn creek can go from 1" to 4' in couple hours then back to 6" in couple more hours.
Hiking in. Changing things up and heading in under the cover of darkness to a stand location ive only hunted twice. Alot of visibility. My head will be on a swivel. Stars are a shining. Good Luck All
Took a couple days off to get some things done and hang with the family so am recharged and ready to go.I will be heading in to hunt at 11:30 for the rest of the day and sitting all day tomorrow.
I agree... I think they were off lockdown last weekend and Monday. The last few days I think the big boys were back with a doe. Hopefully that means back off lockdown Friday through Sunday for the final big breeding push.
Out the woods. Time to bust ass so im clear the next couple days. Walked by this scrape on the way out. Something been hitting it. By the size, thats gotta b one frusturated/worked up buck. Im pumped up for these next couple days
