Got in right at sunrise and within 20 minutes I had a show. A decent 8 was dogging a couple does and running off 2 other smaller bucks. At one point he was about 30 yards from me hut I didn't have a clear shot. Awesome moring so far.

Unreal..I did some rattling, and not 2 minutes later I hear something to my left. I see antlers..I see big antlers..he walked in looking for the fight. He came to my left and swung below me. I pulled my range finder up and he was right below the logging road at 30 yards. And I'll be honest. I froze up. He was perfect broadside. Just standing there. And I couldn't bring myself to shoot. Idk what the deal was. I had zero confidence and just couldn't even draw my bow back. I was texting Taylor and telling him. This deer was every bit of 145..a giant to me. So he stood there and then backed out after he didn't see anything.

Just missed me #2 hit lister and I'm just so upset. It was a clean miss which was good but the wind blew right as a released and blew a limb right in the way. Ended up clipping the limb and sent the arrow way off corse. Man I am just so upset right now. If he blew out of here he is most likely going to be nocturnal now correct?

Right now I have a perfect view of the sun and nothing else. Should be able to look out the blind again in a few minutes without GOING blind. Nothing but squirrels so far.

Thanks guys, I got out of the Stand to check the arrow than hopped right back up so maybe he will be back. But what was nice was that the does that busted me yesterday came back this morning and I bought a new jacket lastnight and they couldn't even spot me with this new camo pattern. Hopefully the does will come back around and I may get a crack at him tomorrow morning

Jake, if that nice buck comes back in imagine him being that dog and kill the fuggar!!! Good luck!!!

Things happen Rsmith, keep at it and move on. We've all been through mishaps and fug ups and you just need to forget and get ready and succeed on the next encounter. Good luck!

Good luck everyone!!!

That sucks brother. I did that same exact thing two weeks ago. Back in the same stand. I'm sure he didn't know what was up. He'll be back and you can put an arrow in him this time. Lol

Seen a spike and a 6, both moving good doing some searching. Yet to see a doe...
