I've been locked, nocked and loaded looking over an oak flat on a point just beyond a standing cornfield since 7:20. Jumped a few deerz on my way in, dang its dry!!!

Had nice encounter with doe and two yearlings but that's it so far.....

Nobody killed anything tonight? I wonder how lumberheads hunt went.

I was covered up with deer Saturday evening but he didn't show. I checked the cam Monday and he showed up at 9:03 pm. I'll get another crack at him, there are a few others I would be just as happy with.

Well, I passed on a really nice 4 1/2 year old lastnight in hopes one of my other shoot bucks will come in. I'm kicking myself for not shooting him he was one heavy deer, thick neck, nice gut, but his rack was suffering a lot, very small

It's still very very early and in my opinion you did the right thing. Enjoy your season and keep at it, you kill the other buck it'll be 100 times better than if you were tagged out on a deer you're not happy with while watching from the sidelines the rest of the season. Just sayin'!

GOOD LUCK!

Lol he doesn't look like he skips too many meals. I don't think you'll regret passing him. Huntings too much fun to end your season this early on a buck your not happy with

He's in their every morning and night haha. And I know that's my only problem is not getting the stud buck I want and that it's only the 5th day of the season. I really want to hold out to around the rut

I think you made a good decision too. Still plenty early and I'd say he would show up plenty of times this year if you change your mind, just keep that food-a-coming!! LOL

For sure! It was the coolest thing I have ever witnessed yesterday seeing him, he came in chasing 2 does and there was a buck in the plot already and he was sparing/playing with him pushing him all around the plot. Than he made a monster rub on this tree about 40 yards from my stand, than he was using this licking branch right by it and than he made a monster scrape right under it. It was the first time I have seen a deer do that in person and it was so cool to see a nice mature deer do that so close to me. He defiantly thinks he is the dominate buck in the area but I know there are bigger ones right around me so hopefully that will bring in a true big boy to show him who's boss. It was a real exciting night though for sure.
