Lookin for a chain saw

I want to add that the deciding factor for me to buy a Husq over the Stihl this time was buying from a guy I know and trust to treat me right. All our local Stihl dealers are either box stores, or assholes.
I personally dislike stihl saws. However I feel it is equivalent to the ford vs Chevy deal. They both work and have there pros and cons. One thing I will say though is that a pro saw of either brand is definitely worth the extra money. You will get a better and more reliable saw.
I beat the shit out of my husky 455. Its only had one tune up in the 5-6 years I've had it and it starts on the second pull every time, 3 pulls if its cold and been sitting a while.
Husky has been in use by me for the last 15 years and it's never let me down when I've put the chain on right.....
Had a still before that and the husky ran circles around it.... But a18" bar will do that against a 12" bar saw.....

Just ran a Husqvarna 455...impressed. Now I have a decision to make.
The problem with comparing today's saws with the ones more than a few years old is the restrictions. The EPA has made saws so choked that it really is a shame.
I would buy an ECHO over anything if it weren't for all the mods needed to get it running right. They are so lean and have a cat muffler that the 5 year warranty means nothing as they will always claim a gas issue.

I've always had good luck with my husqvarna 55 rancher over the last 15 years or so. We use stihl at work, they spend alot of time in the shop, but they get asked to do alot out of the norm. We are not easy on equipment and in less than desirable environments.

My Husqvarna 460 with a 20in. bar has taken a good ponding over the years and still ticking,,no complaints with it at all
Love my Stihl MS 290 farmboss. Cut lots of wood with it over the last 15 years or so.
A guy that repairs a lot of chainsaws for the local hardware store told me this about Stihls though and I had two other Stihl dealer mechanics give me the same info.
1. Use 92 octane or higher only
2. Mix only enough gas that you will use in a month or less.

To add to this, I buy the gallon of Lucas fuel treatment and put some in the can EVERY time. It seems to really help with the "bad gas" issues.
Stihl has a fuel now that like pure gas(how he described it) that he adds a splash of before long sits to help clean out the pipes so to speak and to help it start easier later. I bought a couple cans of it. It comes in about a quart size can.
I put Sta-Bil (fuel stabilizer) in every drop of gas I use in power equipment, and my shit has never run so well. everything always starts right up even after sitting for months. Last year my 20 year old airless sprayer (Honda engine) started on the first pull after sitting for nearly 18 months in its "winterized" condition. all of my two stroke stuff starts right up after sitting all winter, too.
I use Sta-Bil as well and it's great stuff. I also use Sea Foam about once a year in my high use stuff.
I use sea foam in almost every tank on the boat and every other gas motor I own..... Stabil for winter storage but sea foam the rest of the year.... If you have a 2 stroke motor decarbing is also a very good idea.....
