Looking for advice for a new hunter to the Shawnee area

Shawnee Ohio is a small village in SE Ohio. Notice the winking emoji. Not even close to Shawnee State Park.

I have no idea what to expect. Just seen a great deal of public land near Shawnee state park. Thought I might just come check it out. We have good deer hunting in indiana but I like your shorter seasons in Ohio. Gives the Bucks a better chance to mature.

Shorter seasons? our bow season open last week of September and runs through the first week of February. Indiana must have longer gun season?

Much longer gun season. For the last few years we could kill 9 does in our county. Talk about hurting the head count.

There is places like that in Michigan, no way the herd can handle that

Was honest question. They’re about 2 hours apart. I hunted Shawnee State Forest as a kid. Not much of help, was way before OnX. Lol.
But live in SE now, somewhat familiar with Shawnee Ohio, Perry County.
