Hey bud. What kind of experience do you have so far? Have you been hunting long or are you just getting started.

Welcome! Good to have you around.
What do you hunt with?
Have you harvested anything?
(I'm just glad you didn't ask about fishing!) 🤣
Again... Welcome!

yes I have access to private land I want to say its about 25 acres
Have you ever squirrel hunted?

Being that you’re not using archery equipment yet, if you have a .22 I’d be squirrel hunting and scouting for deer at the same time. The two are a lot alike in many ways.
Late season (natural) food sources and prime bedding areas should be the focus on any land you’re scouting this time of year.

Read a lot, watch a lot videos on YouTube and ask any questions on here that you’re not sure of. We’ve all been there and if you’re serious about learning this place can be a gold mine of information.

Muzzleloader season is coming up and the forum is having a deer drive get together at Salt Fork state park. The a thread already started for it. If you don’t have a muzzle loader meat up with the group and do some deer drives with them. Good way to get your feet wet with the forum and learn from some fellas that have a wealth of knowledge. Plus you’ll get some great cardio workout. 😀

Squirrels can be a good time and they eat good. Also a great introduction to the outdoors. Sit down and dont move for 30-45 minutes. They will come out!
