I always feel bad for someone that looses a beloved pet like a dog. Like others, I've been there Too. !3 years is a good run... but its never enough. Sorry for your loss.

Thanks everyone. Each day gets a little better, although I'm not looking forward to picking up his ashes. I still don't have the heart to move his bed out of our room. All in time I guess.

When my GSP " Pete " died, I wouldn't let my wife remove his food bowl out of the kitchen for a long time. I swore I'd never have another dog mainly because I felt that I would be cheating on him. After a few years passed, I now have TWO. So, time will heel ... pun intended. I really wanted to name the Weim " Repete " but my wife wouldn't let me...lol

Sorry for your loss. I had a damn good Beagle named Sam from the time I was 11 years old til I was 25. When he died It tore me up something terrible. I never got another hunting dog and really havent rabbit hunted since
