lw sticks vs muddy ?

Jim, where do you see the ads? Web, email, flyer?

I think I would benefit greatly with the muddy or LW setup to be more mobile and to learn more about where to hang "fixed" sets but just have the unknown "hands on" experience for ease of use.

I usually get a sale flyer in the local paper. Keep an eye on their website, as they usually post pdfs for their flyers on there.

$35/20' ladder? They were selling them at or below cost. Not saying I don't believe you JB. I have seen it too. Just saying they don't last long at these prices. Snag as many as you can when you see them in this price range.

Not trying to push anything on you or sell anything to you Ryan, but here is another thought. Last night I hung 2 stands. I used 2 of my LW sticks, then put the Rivers Edge "Fast Sticks" the rest of the way. Then I hung a couple cheaper hang on stands. I could have bought additional Millenium brackets, but for strategic reasons (the ability to slide in and out as quickly and quietly as possible) I wanted the stands there. When I hunt them I will carry in 2 LW sticks and hang them (30sec) and climb in to my stand. Strap in, get settled, and hunt. I will post some pictures.

This is another option. Both sets were upper teens to 20' up by estimate. Each set used 2 Fast Sticks. Leaving the lower 2 as LW sticks reduced my theft chances and reduced my cost since I already had the LW sticks. Same thing could be accomplished with some extra brackets which would eliminate buying extra hang on stands. $45 buys a 3 pack of the Fast Sticks. Downside of this is you would still need to buy some LW or similar sticks and extra brackets. Just a thought. Maybe an option down the road.

First picture is what the deer see when they are broadside. Second picture looks more open but if they are walking towards the stand, I will already be drawn by the time they are broadside. I have a broadside shot where it appears open and a quartering to or away shot in front of me. Left a decent amount of cover in front of me but wanted multiple shooting windows. If not for leaving some cover I would stick out like a sore thumb.

Believe me, I know. I bought 3 sets of sticks from them last year at that price. No one else around even came close to that price. I was in there a couple weeks ago and the same sticks were priced at $75 though. No way I'm paying that.

I am guessing this may no be local for most..But Buckeye outdoors an maybe Vance's as well, have 20ft sniper climbing sticks for 39.99$ now..Woodbury in Coshocton has 20ft marksman sticks as well for the same price...Both have hang ons of the same brands mentioned above for $39.99 each.............I like the cheap hangon/fast sticks/LW bottom sticks idea, only problem is I only have the LW sticks and hang on right now...And boy do they give my fat ass a work out using them

This is where the bigger or box stores kill guys like me. They can put their flyer out and advertise one or two products at or below cost to get you in the door. They know when you get in there and see the hang on that is $45-50 you are going to realize it is small and uncomfortable. They will get you in the door and hope you buy the nicer model (which is generally priced about where we sell them lol). They also hope to sell you the extras on impulse buys while you are there. "Hmm. . . .I could use a new grunt tube and some Tinks. Maybe a couple of these scent wicks or glow in the dark thumb tacks would be a good idea. Dang, I forgot about my gloves with a hole in them. Better pick up a pair before season gets here." I don't hate them for it. It simply is what it is. The founders of these companies started with a goal and they are simply at a different point in the game than I am. Good for them. As far as that is concerned, even Walmart started as a mom and pop's store. The Walton family has lived the American Dream to its fullest extent.

I know I was going to try an sell some of my self made Scrape.scent dripper's.But by the time I buy almost 150-200$ in bulk materials/supplies to make 100 of them and add on the shipping cost to some buyer...I would not be very much below the Tinks an magnum scrap/scent dripper pricing(avg 10-12$)..I imagine they only have pennies invested in each of the commercial scrape/scent dripper's......

Also your pricing on the FAST STICKS seemed very competitive, with others selling the same product....

OMO your PM box is full so I guess I will reply publicly. No offense taken bud. I would like to sell product, but I am not going to be upset if a guy comes across a banging deal. By all means, they should snag them up. All I was stating in my post was to buy them if you see them that cheap. I appreciate your PM though. You didn't upset me at all. Hope the TOO guys find some more bargains for themselves. If they happen to buy off me, that works too.

My bad on the PM box.:smiley_blackeye:...Honestly I think the 3 Fast Sticks for 45$ is better then a long 20ft stick for 35$..I would use them how you did in your pics a few post up...On or two fast sticks,2 or 3 of my LW sticks and a 30$ hang on from Sportsmans guide sounds GREAT!.It would give me a break from the hanging an taking down of the LW every time in an out which I dont think I can get used to...:smiley_depressive:.I might be in touch in a few in months if I can swing it,early oct maybe..In your travels do you make it east of Columbus much?..

Not since today. Doh! Heading home shortly and don't have a full set in the truck. I am in lewis Center now and have 2 new ones in the truck if you are interested. That is 2 singles out of a box of 3. Sorry. Heading to see my brother in Hilliard shortly. Unplanned visits to my sister and brother today or I would have announced it.
